TAFCast — Safety disclaimer
Version 1.2 · Effective 2026-10-12
For situational awareness only
TAFCast is for general aviation-weather awareness and educational reference only. It is not for navigation, flight planning, dispatch, or deciding whether a flight or manoeuvre is safe. It is not an official MET/AIS briefing service and is not approved, certified, or endorsed by an aviation authority.
Obtain an official briefing
Before any flight, obtain a complete, current briefing from the official or authorised MET/AIS sources appropriate to your location and route. TAFCast does not replace that briefing, aircraft documentation, applicable rules, or professional judgement. The pilot in command remains responsible for decisions and the safe conduct of the flight.
Synthetic Airfield Outlook (SAO)
An SAO is computer-generated advisory output, not an official ICAO forecast or TAF. It can be wrong and must not be used for flight decisions. Nearby surface-station observations do not necessarily describe conditions at the selected aerodrome.
Display and calculation limits
Data may be incomplete, incorrect, delayed, or unavailable. Cached or offline data are historical, not live. Check source, observation and forecast times and validity periods. A successful refresh does not mean the underlying observation is new.
NOTAM lists can be filtered or incomplete; an empty list does not establish that no restrictions exist. Runway wind components and any favoured-runway indicator are estimates, not runway-selection advice or aircraft-performance calculations. They do not account for every operational constraint.
Alerts can be delayed, missed, or disabled by network, device, permission, or operating-system restrictions. No alert does not mean safe conditions. User-defined thresholds are not certified safety limits.
